About Mara Choroa Camp

About us: Mara Choroa Camp currently comprises 5 spacious guest tents and 4 Cottages. We also have a lounge and a dining room which is set on a strategic location a few kilometers from Talek town with breathtaking views of the Masai Mara savannah and its wildlife. Each tent and cottage is built with your comfort and privacy in mind. The Cottage are built on stones, with a common living space where guest can relax and recap the how the day was. They are ideal for the families and friends. Whilst you are technically inside a tent or at the cottage, the level of comfort and safety makes this difficult to believe! The tents and the cottages have been thoughtfully designed and located within the camp to offer maximum privacy for our guests. Sitting on your veranda you will be able to view and breathe in the Masai Mara Game Reserve in all its glory.

Location

Mara Choroa Camp is situated in a prime location in Talek, in the middle overlooking the plains of Masai Mara. To reach Our Camp, you can either fly in (from Nairobi, Mombasa, Kisumu, or Diani) or drive (safaris normally start in Nairobi). Whilst the drive time is significant (approximately 6 hours), it is usually broken up by a visit to one of the other National Parks, Driving through Great Rift Valley is spectacular and well worth it. Mara Choroa Camp is a 15 minute drive from Ol Kiombo Airstrip or 30 minute drive Keekorok Airstrip and easy to find! The Talek River meanders near the Camps’ borders with the Park, attracting a wide variety of wildlife. Talek is an excellent location to stay throughout the year and there is always plenty to see, hear and experience. It is possible to take a Guided walk down to the river to look for wildlife and listen to the gentle babbling of the river. A perfect spot to experience the magic of the Masai Mara!

What can I expect inside my tent?

Mara Choroa Camp offers many contemporary amenities, such as a restaurant with both local and international cuisine, a lounge with bar, outside fireplace, entertainment and free internet, gift shop, massages in the middle of Masai mara reserve.
